    • A valve press tool (10) includes a C-shaped frame (12) having an adjustable platen (28) and an over-center lever device (48) at opposite ends (20, 22) of the C-frame. Attached to the over-center device is a pressure plate (40) to which is attached three legs (42) having non-skid ends (44). The pressure plate and legs are located directly opposite each other so that valve components (70) to be serviced may be placed into compression for disassembly. The platen is adjustable by means of an attached threaded rod (26) that threads into a threaded receiver (24) on one end of the C-frame. This adjustability allows the press tool to be used on various valves having different dimensions and heights.

    • A dual-purpose diverter valve designed particularly to be incorporated within an air-pressure system associated with hot spas, tubs and the like, wherein air is pumped into the tub water to create a massaging action therein, the diverter valve comprising an enlarged cylindrical housing having an inlet port and an oppositely disposed outlet port, the inlet port being connected to the air-pump side and the outlet port being connected to the tub side; and wherein the housing thereof defines a transitory chamber in which there is provided a dual-valve arrangement, the dual valve being formed between the inlet port and a back-flow-vent port, the inlet port including an inwardly protruding angular-valve set having a flexible valve-flap member adapted to close the inlet passage when air is not being pumped to the tub, and wherein the flap-valve member is arranged to disengage from the inlet-passage valve set and engage the back-flow-vent port, thereby closing the vent port during air flow through the chamber.

    • An improved dual tire assembly method for free rolling applications. Each tire is constructed having the tire carcass slightly angled away from the conventional ninety degree configuration to minimize torque windup caused by interaction between the individual tires in the dual assembly. Such a deviation from ninety degrees is made relatively small enough to avoid experiencing a significant rolling resistance penalty in each tire yet large enough so that the torque windup effect of one tire on the other tire is minimized. A method of reducing torque windup in a dual tire assembly is achieved comprising the steps: configuring both tires in a dual assembly to provide a carcass angled slightly from 80 to 100 degrees; mounting such tires in proximal relationship in a dual tire assembly on a common axle; operating both tires in a free rolling mode of operation; and using the angled carcass of each tire to minimize the effect of torque windup imposed by the opposite tire.
