    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating combustion exhaust gas, which can remove dust and heavy metals from combustion exhaust gas in a cost-effective manner and can facilitate post treatment of dust. SOLUTION: This method is a method for treating combustion exhaust gas in which combustion exhaust gas from a fluidized bed furnace is passed through a high-temperature dust collector to remove dust. A granular heavy metal adsorbent is provided and is brought into contact with combustion exhaust gas within a furnace in the fluidized furnace to adsorb heavy metals. Thereafter, the granular heavy metal adsorbent is separated by a cyclone and is returned to the fluidized furnace. On the other hand, dust-containing exhaust gas free from heavy metals discharged from the cyclone is passed through the high-temperature dust collector to remove the dust, whereby heavy metals and dust are removed separately from each other.
