The image forming apparatus supplies electric power to the heating body in a print-standby state, and executes fixing standby control mode for controlling the fixing member to be on standby at a predetermined control temperature. In the fixing standby control mode, the control temperature of the heating body is set to be lower when power consumption of the heating body in the fixing standby control mode is small than when it is large.
