摘要： A separation assembly is generally described that can chemically treat condensate material in a fluid stream. One particular example of a separation assembly is a crankcase filtration assembly used in engine oil filtration and that includes an additive material disposed within the crankcase filtration assembly. The additive material chemically treats condensate material of blow-by fluids received by the crankcase filtration assembly when a condition is present in the condensate material. For example, the crankcase filtration assembly provides a unique structure with a chemically treated component that can reduce an acidic condition in condensate material received by the crankcase filtration assembly, and even more generally may extend engine oil life.

摘要： A fluid filter device is described, where a flow attachment member provides a unique interface between the filtering element and a filter head. The fluid filter described herein generally provides a flow structure that is localized and sealed. The flow attachment member is configured to communicate fluid into and out of the fluid filter, and is configured to localize fluid flow both into and out of the fluid filter within a separating structure of the flow attachment member. The flow attachment member further includes a seal structure configured to substantially prevent or at least confine leakage to a localized area away from proximity of the edges of the housing. A composite filter head is described that has integrally molded inlet and outlet fittings.

As a result, oil drain intervals can be extended.

According to one exemplary embodiment, a fluid filter apparatus for reducing re-entrainment of contaminant particles into post-filtration fluid flow due at least in part to a fluid flow surge includes at least one fluid filter and a fluid flow diverting element that is coupled to the fluid filter. The fluid filter includes at least one fluid filtering medium that is communicable in fluid flow receiving communication with a fluid flowing along a first fluid flow path during a fluid flow non-surge event. During a fluid flow surge event, the fluid flow diverting element is capable of diverting at least some of the fluid from the first fluid flow path to a second fluid flow path.

摘要： The present invention provides a filter assembly containing a filter element and a container as a depot for a liquid additive. The container can include an inlet and an outlet, which are configured to allow a liquid to flow into the container mix with the contained additive and then flow out into the system. It has been observed that a liquid flowing through a filter assembly exhibits a pressure gradient within the filter. Consequently, the inlets and outlets to the container can be positioned to take advantage of the pressure gradient to enhance the addition of the additive to the liquid in the filter assembly.
