    • The invention relates to a fuel injection valve for internal combustion engines. Said valve has a valve member (21) which can be axially displaced and which controls, with the end situated on the side of the combustion chamber, the effective area of flow to at least one injection opening (27) by increasing or decreasing said area. The valve projects, with the end situated at a distance from the combustion chamber, into a fuel-filled spring chamber (37). A valve spring (41) which impinges upon the valve member (21) in the direction of closure is loaded in said spring chamber. Said valve spring, with the ends thereof facing away from the valve member, rests on a pressure relief piston (45). Said pressure relief piston can be displaced along a determined path into the spring chamber (37) when the fuel is supplied to the fuel injection valve under high pressure, thereby increasing the prestressing force of the valve spring (41). The fuel injection valve also has a connecting channel between the spring chamber (37) and a fuel low-pressure chamber (73). The connecting channel is configured as a throttling port (99) between the spring chamber (37) and the fuel low-pressure chamber (73) in order to increase the pressure at the injection opening.
