摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-servo friction brake, a friction coefficient measuring unit, and a frictional force controlling method capable of obtaining nearly infinite self-toggled force and consequently operating at low operating force and preventing a friction brake from locking. SOLUTION: A wedge element 22 capable of pushing a brake pad 20 to a braking body which is rotatable to generate braking force is arranged in the self toggle joint type friction brake 10. The wedge element movable to a rotary direction of the braking body is supported at a designated supporting angle α to a perpendicular line of the braking body. Further, in a model in which an operating device capable of moving the wedge element to the rotary direction of the braking body and also opposite to the rotary direction of the braking body is provided therein, the designated supporting angle α is selected to locate a specific braking value C* of the friction brake 10 at a polar position or an approximately polar position. SOLUTION: The pedal stroke simulator is provided with a master brake cylinder 28, a hydraulic pump 12, and a wheel brake cylinder 20. The wheel brake cylinder 20 is connected to the discharge side of the hydraulic pump 12 via a pressure increasing valve 18 and to the suction side of the hydraulic pump 12 via a pressure reducing valve 24. The pedal stroke simulator is also provided with a hydraulic accumulator for low pressure 26 connected to the suction side of the hydraulic pump 12 and a hydraulic accumulator for high pressure 22 connected to the discharge side of the hydraulic pump 12. The master brake cylinder 28 is connected to the hydraulic accumulator for low pressure 26 via a separation valve 30 and to the hydraulic accumulator for high pressure 22 via a return valve 32.
