    • A polymer mixture contains (P1) 0.1 to 99.9 % by weight of a rubber-elastic block copolymer made of at least one block S having polymerised units of a vinyl aromatic monomer and forming a hard phase and of at least one elastomer block B/S that contains both polymerised units of a vinyl aromatic monomer (S) and a diene (B) and forms a soft phase. The glass transition temperature Tg of block S is higher than 25 DEG C and that of block B/S is lower than 25 DEG C. The phase volume ratio between block S and block B/S is selected so that the hard phase forms 1 to 40 % by volume of the whole block copolymer and the diene forms less than 50 % by weight of the whole block copolymer. The polymer mixture also contains (P2) 0.1 to 99.9 % by weight of at least one thermoplastic or duroplastic polymer or mixtures of said polymers; and (P3) 0 to 70 % by weight of other additives and auxiliary substances. The percentages by weight of components (P1) to (P3) add up to 100 % by weight.

    • A process is disclosed for producing thermoplastics modified to be impact-resistant or polymer blends containing such modified thermoplastics. The thermoplastics or polymer blends contain: (A) 5 to 95 wt % of at least one water-wet elastomer component A which contains up to 60 wt % residual water; (B) 5 to 95 wt % of at least one thermoplastic polymer B; (C) 0 to 95 wt % of at least another polymer C; and (D) 0 to 70 wt % additives D. The elastomer component A is mixed with the thermoplastic polymer B, if available with the other polymer C and if available with the additives D in a screw-machine while mechanically dewatering the elastomer component A. The process is characterised in that components A, B, C and D are supplied to an extruder with at least two screws that rotate in the same or opposite directions and have a diameter Dscrew.
