    • Disclosed is a method for processing a silver halide color photographic material, which comprises the steps of:image-wise exposing a silver halide color photographic material,color developing the image-wise exposed silver halide photographic material, andprocessing the color developed silver halide photographic material, in the presence of a processing composition containing a metal chelating compound formed by a compound represented by following formula (I) and a salt of a metal belonging to group Ib, IIb, IIIb,IVb, Vb, VIb, VIIb, or VIII of the Periodic Table: ##STR1## wherein Z represents a heterocyclic group; L represents a divalent linkage group; R.sub.11 and R.sub.12 each represents a hydrogen atom, an aliphatic group, an aromatic group, or a heterocyclic group; and n represents 0 or 1.
