    • The present invention provides a multi-display device that has a plurality of projectors and constructs one image as a whole. Partial images projected on a screen from the projectors overlap to have the edges thereof superposed on edges of adjoining partial images in shared fields on the screen. A sheet interceptor intercepts part of light to be projected on a shared field so that the luminance level in the shared field will agree with the luminance levels in the other fields except the shared fields. An interceptor portion of the sheet interceptor, which intercepts light from the right-hand side of a range on the screen within which a partial image is projected, can be displaced horizontally relative to an interceptor portion thereof that intercepts light from the left-hand side thereof. Likewise, an interceptor portion of the sheet interceptor that intercepts light from the upper side of the projected range can be displaced vertically relative to an interceptor portion thereof that intercepts light from the lower side thereof.

    • An image detection processor has a plurality of image detection processing elements arranged on a plane in a matrix array. Each image detection processing element includes an adder circuit that converts an output of a photo detector into digital signals and can receive the digital signals as an input in a matrix form. The adder circuits for respective rows are connected to form cumulative adders. Series adders are connected in series and respectively receive the outputs of final stages of the cumulative adders of respective rows and cumulatively add these outputs. The digital signals are selectively inputted to the cumulative adders using a row decoder and a column decoder and processed data of an image detected by the photo detectors of the plurality of image detection processing elements are outputted from the last series adder. Processed data from the last series adder are inputted to an edge coordinate detector or a status judgment unit.

    • An image processing apparatus, in which an object image focused by a lens is split into a plurality of images by means of a light splitting section. These images are converted into image data items by a plurality of imaging devices which are arranged with their imaging area overlapping in part. The image data items are stored temporarily in an image storing section. A displacement detecting section detects displacement coefficients (rotation angle R and parallel displacement S) from the image signals representing the mutual overlap region of two images which are to be combined and which are represented by two image data items read from the image storing section. The position of any specified pixel of the image displayed is identified by the pixel signal generated by the corresponding pixel of any imaging device. An interpolation section performs interpolation on the pixel values of the imaging device, thereby correcting the values of the other pixels of the image displayed and ultimately generating interpolated image signals. The interpolated image signals are combined with the image signals produced by the imaging device, whereby a display section displays a high-resolution image.
