    • Described is a process for the assembly of the tandem master cylinder and vacuum-brake power-assistance servo of a hydraulic brake system for motor vehicles. Air is injected through the connectors (19, 36) of the pressure spaces (11, 18) associated with the pistons (2, 3). Simultaneously, the pistons (2, 3) are moved by the brake pedal. While the pistons (2, 3), and hence also the central valve (14) housed in the floating piston (3), are moving, the pressure increase in the pressure space (18) is measured. As soon as the closure element (15) of the central valve (14) is seated on the valve seat (16), and hence the central-valve is closed, the air pressure in space (18) increases. On the curve indicating the pressure increase in the graph of pressure versus central-valve travel, a trigger point is defined which gives a measurement distance on the x-axis of the graph. This measurement distance determines the number and/or size of spacer washers (8) disposed between the thrust piece (9) and the connecting-rod piston (2) in order to reduce the dead travel of the central valve (14). The invention thus represents an elegant process, suitable for automatic control, for the assembly of a tandem master cylinder and a vacuum-brake power-assistance servo and for simultaneously reducing the dead travel of the central valve (14).

    • The invention concerns an anti-lock braking system for motor vehicles with a braking pressure sensor (6) to which a wheel brake (1) is connected at least via a main pressure line (5), with a hydraulic auxiliary pressure pump (2) connected to the auxiliary pressure line (12) and wheel sensors and electronic circuits for determining the rotational behaviour of the wheel and for generating electrical braking pressure control signals which control the electromagnetically actuatable inlet valves (7) and outlet valves (14) inserted in the pressure lines for skid control. A pressure fluid reservoir (19) connected to a pressure limiting valve (3) may be controlled dependently upon the hydraulic pressure in the wheel brake (1). It is thus possible to regulate the reservoir pressure or the volume in a closed hydraulic system as required, dependently upon the wheel braking pressure.
