    • PURPOSE: A system and method for testing an electrolyte membrane of a fuel cell is provided to select a low-quality electrolyte film through simple operation of a system before an operation beginning stage of an activated stack. CONSTITUTION: A method for testing an electrolyte membrane of a fuel cell comprises the steps of: (S10) activating a fuel cell stack; supplying reactive gas to the activated fuel cell stack and maintaining the fuel cell stack in a load state; (S20) consuming oxygen of an air in a load condition of the fuel cell stack; (S30) maintaining the fuel cell stack in a non-load condition by blocking current output if a pressure is increased to a set pressure; (S40) observing sudden pressure drop by monitoring the pressure of the air side; and determining damage of the electrolyte film if sudden pressure drop is detected.
