    • A female connector that is easy to be engaged with a male connector includes a connector insulator and a plurality of terminal modules inserted into the connector insulator. The terminal module includes grounding pins and fork-shaped signal pins. The signal pin has twisted pin arms and a raised arm portion. The connector insulator includes grounding terminal openings and signal terminal openings. The signal terminal opening includes a raised opening bottom, which has a slope portion and a raised portion. The twisted pin arms provide smooth surfaces to allow a signal terminal of a male connector being smoothly inserted between the pin arms. The raised arm portion, the slope portion and the raised portion allow the two pin arms keeping a distance away from each other.

    • A connector is assembled by providing a base and an earth terminal unit which is located to be aligned with the base and the earth terminal unit is pressed into the base to let a front end of the earth terminal unit contact an inside of the base. A casing is then provided to be in alignment with the base and then press the casing into the base. A signal terminal unit is then provided which is in alignment with the base. The signal terminal unit is then pressed into the base and a front end of the signal terminal unit contacts the inside of the base. By the method, the signal terminal unit is securely connected to the base.

    • A method for processing packets of a VLAN in a network switch is provided. The VLAN comprises a plurality of physical LANs and are divided into a plurality of subnets. The method comprises the steps of: receiving a packet through an ingress port of the network switch, wherein the packet is tagged with a VID of the VLAN; finding a VLAN member according to the VID, wherein the VLAN member represents all ports of the network switch dedicated to serving packets of the VLAN; finding a forwarding scope according to the ingress port, wherein the ingress port is one of the ports dedicated to serving packets of a first subnet of the VLAN and the forwarding scope represents all ports of the network switch dedicated to serving packets of the first subnet; and determining an egress port of the packet according to both the VLAN member and the forwarding scope.

    • A connector insulator for a female connector includes a plurality of U-shaped grounding terminal openings and signal terminal openings surrounded by the grounding terminal openings. A plurality of terminal modules corresponding to the grounding terminal openings and the signal terminal openings are fitted into a side of the connector insulator. Signal terminals and U-shaped grounding terminals of a male connector are fitted into the signal terminal openings and the grounding terminal openings to be electrically connected with signal pins and grounding pins of the terminal modules, respectively. Because the U-shaped grounding terminals surround the signal terminals so the connector insulator having the U-shaped grounding terminal openings provides an improved EMI shielding.

    • A grounding terminal for electrical connector, which can reduce noise, includes a main body, a wing portion and a coupling portion. A connector insulator includes signal terminal openings and L-shaped or U-shaped grounding terminal openings. The wing portion and the coupling portion are extended from both lower side edges of the main body, respectively. Thus, the grounding terminal can be engaged with the L-shaped or U-shaped grounding terminal opening. Although the grounding terminal is not in U shape, the grounding terminal and the grounding terminal opening surround the signal terminals. Therefore, the grounding terminal still provides an EMI shielding similar to that of a conventional U-shaped grounding terminal.
