    • A working line having a plurality of work stations arranged in series and a free-flow transport conveyor for transporting workpieces to the work stations. An outer frame supporting the conveyor extends over the work stations. A jig base is provided in each of the work stations and is inserted into a framed space of the outer frame. A jig is provided on each of the jig base supporting and positioning each of the workpieces on the transport conveyor at the respective work station.     • An automatic assembling apparatus is provided for assembling in sequence at least a first component and a second component to an article at an assembling station. The assembling apparatus comprises a first assembling jig for the first assembling component and a second assembling jig for the second component. An annular rail has the first and second assembling jigs mounted thereon such that they are circumferentially movable on the annular rail. The annular rail has a movable rail portion positioned opposite the assembling station which is movable to advance toward and retract from the assembling station. At least one supplying station is positioned with respect to the circumference of the annular rail for supplying components to the assembling jigs at the supplying station. Each of the assembling jigs and a corresponding component are positioned in sequence on the movable rail portion such that the advance movement of the movable rail portion moves the assembling jigs to an assembling position at the assembling station for sequentially carrying out the assembly of each component to the article.

    • An apparatus having a robot on an frame having in front thereof a jig base for positioning thereon workpieces to which parts are to be assembled. The robot supports an assembling head equipped with a parts-holding member movable in a longitudinal and a vertical direction towards and away from the jig base so that the parts can be picked up out of a parts-containing pallet supplied at a predetermined pickup position on the frame and assembled to the workpiece positioned on the jig base. A pair of front and rear pallet chambers are formed in a space under the frame such that parts-containing pallets can be brought in and taken out in a stacked condition, one of the chambers being used as a feeding pallet chamber and the other as a discharging pallet chamber. A pallet conveying apparatus is provided to lift the parts-containing pallets fed to the feeding pallet chamber to an upper position of the chamber successively from the uppermost one, transport them from the upper position to an upper position of the discharging pallet chamber, and then lower them into the discharging pallet chamber. The parts inside the parts-containing pallets are picked up by the assembling head with the pallets stopped in the pickup position which is set at the upper position of the front side pallet chamber.

    • The present invention is directed to an apparatus for assembling a uniform-speed joint having an inner rotary body and an outer rotary body which transmits a rotational force from one to the other through a plurality of small spheres disposed in receiving holes in the outer peripheral surface of the inner rotary body. The apparatus comprises a carrying member for carrying the outer rotary bodies such that the inner surface of the rotary body is oriented upward and guide members, including a first guide wall, a second guide wall and a pusher for pushing an inner rotary body along the first guide wall until it contacts the second guide wall. The apparatus also comprises a first press fitting member for press fitting two small spheres into diametrically opposed receiving holes in the inner body and clamping members for clamping the inner rotary body, orienting the axis of the inner rotary member perpendicular to the axis of said outer rotary member on the carrying member and inserting the inner rotary member into the outer rotary member. Correcting members are provided for orienting the inner rotary body with respect to the outer rotary body such that the axis of the inner rotary body coincides with the axis of the outer rotary body. The apparatus further comprises swing members for rotating the inner rotary body in the outer rotary body such that at least one of the receiving holes is above the top edge of the outer rotary body and second press fitting members for pressing the small spheres into the receiving holes above the top edge of the outer rotary body.

    • Therein is disclosed a method for assembling a uniform-speed joint having an inner rotary body and an outer rotary body which transmits a rotational force from one to the other through a plurality of small spheres in receiving holes on the disposed outer peripheral surface of said inner rotary body and including a pair of small spheres diametrically facing each other where the intersecting angle between the rotation axes of said inner rotary body and said outer rotary body is variable and the rotational speed is not changed. The method comprising the steps of:(a) fitting said small spheres into a diametrically opposed pair of said small-sphere receiving holes in said inner rotary body;(b) fitting said inner rotary body into said outer rotary body while maintaining the rotation axis of said inner rotary body perpendicular to the rotational axis of said outer rotary body with no interference between said pair of small spheres and the edge of said outer rotary body;(c) bring the rotation axes of said inner rotary body and said outer rotary body into coincidence with each other; and(d) swinging said inner rotary body relative to said outer rotary body about the diametrical swing axis passing through said pair of small spheres and then fitting small spheres into the corresponding small-sphere receiving holes of said inner rotary body in the portion of said inner rotary body which is out of said outer rotary body.
