      SOLUTION: This soundproof structure 1, which can be arranged between steel girders juxtaposed in parallel so as to constitute the steel girder bridge, has a basic structure in which sound absorbing layers (upper and lower sound absorbing layers 31 and 32) composed of a sound absorbing material such as a porous plate and a fibrous mat are interposed on and under a sound insulating board 2 composed of a metal plate etc. In the characteristic structure, the sound insulating board 2 is provided with drainage channels 21 and 22 which are opened upward from one end to the other one, so that rainwater received by the top surface of the soundproof structure 1 can be discharged to the outside; and a sound-absorbing air space 4 is provided in parallel with the drainage channels 21 and 22 between the sound insulating board 2 and the lower sound absorbing layer 32.

Furthermore, even if clearances are formed at joint parts between the side face and lower face shielding plates 13 and the end shielding plate 13, the clearances are not directly exposed to the outside, which makes it hard for impurities to enter. In carrying out inspection work, it is convenient to use a maintenance hatch provided at the end shielding plate 13.

A mounting beam 1 is suspended on the girder 2 via a hanging member 11 equipped with a height adjusting means 10; the panel 3 is fixed to the mounting beam 1; after that, the floor board is constructed on the girder 2; and the height adjusting means 10 makes a difference of elevation between the girder 2 and the mounting beam 1 adjusted depending on the amount of deflection of each portion of the girder 2, associated with the construction of the floor board. When the girder 2 is bent by the construction of the floor board, the height adjusting means 10 enables the difference of elevation between the girder 2 and the mounting beam 1 to be adjusted depending on the amount of deflection of each portion of the girder 2. Thus, the deformation and coming-off of the panel 3 can be prevented from being caused by the deflection of the girder 2. In other words, the panel 3 can be mounted on the girder 2 before or during the construction of the floor board.

A flexible sealing material 15b is filled in this abutting part to close up the clearance formed between the lower face of the floor slab 11 and the upper end of the shielding plate 13. Since the flexible plate 15a bends and absorbs impact, excessive load is not applied to the shielding plate 13. Further, since the flexible plate 15a is not fixed to the floor slab 11, there is no concern about damaging the floor slab 11.
