摘要： Compositions comprising an ionic liquid active composed of an ion active and an ionic liquid-forming counter ion, wherein the ion active is capable of delivering a fabric treating benefit, a surface treating benefit, and/or an air treating benefit. The compositions are substantially free of added water and have a viscosity less than about 5000 mPa·s at room temperature. The compositions are easily diluted with water and/or organic solvent, without formation a gel phase during the dilution process. Various products, especially a unit dose product, made with such compositions are also disclosed.

In some embodiments, dispersement of nanoparticles in a suitable carrier medium allows for the creation of coating compositions, methods and articles of manufacture that create multi-use benefits to the modified surfaces. These surface modifications can produce long lasting or semi-permanent multi-use benefits that, in some embodiments, may include at least one of the following improved surface properties: cleaning, wettability, liquid strike-through, comfort, stain resistance, soil removal, malodor control, modification of surface friction, reduced damage to abrasion and color enhancement, relative to the surfaces unmodified with such nanoparticle systems.

The alcohol surfactants have the formula: RO(R1O)xR2 wherein, R is selected from the group consisting of linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated, substituted or unsubstituted, aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon radicals having from about 1 to about 30 carbon atoms; R1 may be the same or different, and is independently selected from the group consisting of branched or linear C2 to C7 alkylene in any given molecule; R2 is selected from the group consisting of: (i) a 4 to 8 membered substituted, or unsubstituted heterocyclic ring containing from 1 to 3 hetero atoms; (ii) a 7 to 13 membered substituted, or unsubstituted polycyclic ring; (iii) a hydrocarbon of the formula: —(CH2)y—X wherein, y is an integer from 1 to 7, X is a 4 to 8 membered substituted, or unsubstituted, saturated or unsaturated cyclic or aromatic hydrocarbon radical; and (iv) a hydrocarbon radical of the formula: —C(CH3)2R3 wherein R3 is selected from the group consisting of linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated, substituted or unsubstituted, aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon radicals having from about 1 to about 30 carbon atoms, provided that when R3 is methyl, R is branched; wherein x is a number from 1 to about 30.
