摘要： In the stretching of leather and the like by means of two elastically expanding diaphragms pressed together by underpressure and sealed against each other and causing the two diaphragms to expand, taking the leather stretched between them with them by friction, an expansion device acting on the diaphragms with its force distributed over the periphery of each is required. It is the purpose of the invention to provide a stretching process which achieves the same stretching results without the comparatively troublesome expansion of both leather surfaces. This is achieved by the invention in that: a) at least one part of the first surface of a piece of leather is applied to a supporting surface which allows the leather to slide; b) the piece of leather is distributed over at least part of the supporting surface and subjected to pressure forces acting against the supporting surface; c) stretching forces directed at least approximatley tangentially to the leather surface and at least approximately all round the edge of the piece of leather are exerted on at least part of the second surface of the piece of leather.

摘要： The invention provides a novel process and device for applying liquids (e.g. dyes) to the surface of leather or similar flat materials. According to the invention, a moving, open-pored, mesh-like belt (sieve) is displaced approximately parallel to leather moving on a substrate, the pores or meshes being filled with liquid. Said liquid is transferred to the leather surface by the action of pressure. The pressure can be applied via a pressure roller, a rotating brush or a linear stream of air or steam. The quantity of liquid (dye) applied is very advantageously determined by controlling the relative speed between the leather surface and the mesh-like belt (sieve). The process operates with minimum liquid (dye) losses and does not pollute the ambient air (environment).

摘要： In leather drying, the problem is to achieve a uniform distribution of the desired residual moisture and a moisture dosing reproducible in a performing method. To this effect, the leather is exposed for absorption reheating to an electromagnetic wave field in a frequency band comprised between 0.3 and 30 GHz approximately and during or alternatingly with this exposure, it is subjected to a treatment pressure which is reduced with respect to the atmospheric pressure. By using microwaves for absorption reheating in combination with a depression, the leather is incorporated with desired properties as to residual moisture and its suppleness and touch are improved due to the heat produced inside the leather.

The invention offers a solution to this problem by filling the pores of said skin or leather tissue with steam and then rapidly cooling down the steam-containing skin or leather by introduction into a bath fluid containing said material, substance or agent. Thereby the steam content is condensed and said fluid is sucked into the pores.
