Cette prothèse permettant l'écriture comporte une base (10) qui engage l'avant-bras (12) et qui possède une partie (14) s'étendant au-delà des extrémités distales des doigts ainsi qu'un repose-main (15) pour la paume et les doigts de l'utilisateur. Un crayon ou un stylo (25) est fixé à la partie (14) pour entrer en contact d'écriture avec une surface à écrire adjacente; la prothèse est soutenue par une paire de roues (20) et un cylindre sphérique (29) pour permettre un mouvement universel par rapport à la surface à écrire. Les muscles proximaux restants de l'utilisateur commandent la prothèse et déplacent le crayon ou le stylo (25) sur la surface à écrire pour permettre l'écriture.

摘要： Aphasic individuals suffering paralysis of the arm and hand have a problem writing. The present invention is a writing prosthesis which solves that problem by allowing a person to use his or her shoulder muscles to control movement of a writing instrument. This writing prosthesis includes a base (10), which engages the forearm (12) and has a portion (14) extending beyond the distal ends of the fingers and a handrest (15) for the user's palm and fingers. A pen or pencil (25) is secured to the extending portion (14) for writing contact with an adjacent writing surface, and the prosthesis is supported by a pair of wheels (20) and a spherical roller (29) for universal movement relative to the writing surface. The residual proximal muscles of the user control the prosthesis and cause the pen or pencil (25) to write on the writing surface.
