摘要： The invention is directed to compositions and methods of their use as effective biocidal agents for water streams. The composition comprises a halogen source, halogen stabilizers containing a sulfur bearing species and ammonium salts/urea, and an alkali. The sulfur bearing species includes sulfamic acid or its salt equivalent. By having optimized mixing ratio of halogen to stabilizer and that of ammonium salts to sulfamic acid or sulfamate, a synergistic effect occurs which both increases the efficacy of the composition as a biocide and it avoids adverse impacts on other chemicals that are present in the water stream. Best of all the composition is easy to form and easy to introduce into a water stream of concern. Its introduction can be as simple as mixing two containers of reagent prior to introduction to the water process stream.

摘要： A method for locating hidden microorganism contaminated surfaces in industrial water systems is described and claimed. The method works by applying a solution or dispersion of a fluorogenic reagent in water to the hidden water contact surfaces of said industrial water system and allowing said fluorogenic reagent to react with any hidden microorganisms present, wherein said fluorogenic reagent is selected from the group of fluorogenic reagents that are known to react with microorganisms such that a fluorescent signal of said fluorogenic reagent is detectable in such a way as to make the detection of the fluorescent signal indicate that there are hidden microorganisms present on the water contact surfaces of the equipment and piping.

摘要： An improved cup for use on pipeline pigs is formed of a unitary material, such as urethane, the cup having a forward end, a rearward end and a central axis and with an integral flange portion providing means for securing the cup to a pipeline pig, the cup having an intermediate portion extending rearwardly from the flange portion, the intermediate portion having an interior frustro-conical surface and an exterior frustro-conical surface and the cup having a rearward portion, the external surface of the rearward portion curving in an arc to a generally cylindrical configuration. The cup preferably has a plurality of slits formed in the rearward portion, each of the slits being in the plane of the cup central axis and most preferably includes V-shaped grooves in the cup rearward portion external and/or internal surfaces, the grooves being of V-shaped configuration. The provision of the rounded exterior surface of the cup reduces the likelihood of the cup catching on obstructions within the pipeline and the provision of the slits and grooves functioning to increase flexibility of the cup allowing it to more readily deflect inwardly when obstructions in a pipeline interior wall are encountered.
