    • A method for determining 1,5-anhydroglucitol characterized by adding 1,5-anhydroglucitol contained in a sample to an enzyme whose activity is inhibited by the glucitol in a concentration-dependent manner and assaying the activity of the enzyme thus inhibited; a reagent for determining 1,5-anhydroglucitol comprising an enzyme whose activity is inhibited by the glucitol in a concentration-dependent manner, a substrate of the enzyme, and a reagent for determining a substance generated by the activity of said enzyme; a novel trehalase having a Ki value of 0.33 mM or below with respect to 1,5-anhydroglucitol; and a process for producing a novel trehalase having the above-mentioned physicochemical property characterized by culturing strains belonging to the genus Nocardia and capable of producing the trehalase in a culture medium and harvesting the trehalase thus produced from the culture.
