    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stain a thin section produced from a frozen embedded sample by using an adhesive plastic film as a support material for the thin section in a state attached to the adhesive plastic film, and thereafter enclose and preserve it in the form attached to the adhesive plastic film as a permanent specimen that can be observed by an optical microscope.
      SOLUTION: The thin section having a maintained shape is produced by using an adhesive plastic film having a strong adhesion even at a lower temperature (e.g., -25°C). Subsequently, the thin section is stained in a state attached to the adhesive plastic film, and thereafter impregnated with a water-soluble resin which can be polymerized and cured by light irradiation or heating, thereafter the specimen is fitted tightly to a glass plate having the same resin applied thereto, then the water-soluble resin is polymerized and cured by light irradiation or heating, and the thin section is enclosed and preserved between the adhesive plastic film and the glass plate as a permanent specimen.
