    • A knee prosthetic including a tibial component defining medial and lateral concavities shaped to receive medial and lateral femoral condyles of the femur. The concavities have first portions for contact with the condyles during normal knee flexion and second portions for contact with the condyles during deep, or high, knee flexion. The medial concavity can include a conforming boundary that encompasses at least the first and second portions, wherein an area inside the conforming boundary has a generally flat surface. The flat surface allows the medial femoral condyle to slide and rotate posteriorly during high knee flexion. The conforming boundary can have a generally triangular shape with an apex extending anteriorly and a relatively wider base extending posteriorly, wherein the apex includes the first portion and the base includes the second portion. The relatively wider base portion advantageously allows additional area for posteriorly directed articulating contact during high knee flexion.

    • This invention relates to a control panel for a vehicle interior. The control panel includes a housing defining a recess formed therein. A panel is pivotally attached to the housing at a pivot axis. The panel has at least one control mechanism mounted thereon. The panel is movable between a first position, wherein the panel generally covers a portion of the recess, and a second position wherein the panel generally exposes the recess. The control panel further including one of a detent mechanism attached to the housing and the panel for biasing the panel in one of the first and second positions, a spring mechanism attached to the housing and the panel for biasing the panel towards one of the first and second positions, and a damper mechanism to dampen the motion of the panel during movement of the panel between the first and second positions.

    • The speed variation of the driven wheels is analyzed in a method of recognizing critical drive train oscillations which require countermeasures during an (ABS) controlled brake maneuver. The occurrence of oscillations having a frequency typical of drive train oscillations is established. When oscillations with this frequency occur, the duration of the oscillating process is established on each individual wheel, or the number of the successive oscillations or semi-wave oscillations is counted. When a predetermined counter reading is reached, an oscillation recognition is indicated if, at that time, the vehicle acceleration is above a predetermined limit value and if oscillation recognition has not yet been triggered on the other driven wheel. To dampen the oscillations, switch-over to a special control is effected for a defined interval. The commencement of the special control prevents braking pressure reduction, the pressure is maintained constant, or at most a delayed pressure increase is allowed.

    • To improve the control behavior of an ABS system, more particularly, to suppress the unwanted effects of individual disturbances in the road surface, when subsequent to a partial braking operation an anti-lock control operation commences on a front wheel and the acceleration of the controlled wheel detected is in excess of a predetermined limit value, a quotient (Q.sub.1,2) is calculated from the maximum brake slip and the duration of pressure reduction until the reacceleration of the front wheel concerned. As soon as this quotient (Q.sub.1,2) exceeds a predetermined limit value (Q.sub.grenz), this is taken as the indicator of a disturbance. Therefore, the braking pressure on the wheel where the single disturbance occurs is increased in the subsequent stable phase until the acceleration falls below a predetermined limit value.
