    • Provided is a surface communication apparatus that includes: propagation sheet (301) through which electromagnetic waves are propagated; an electromagnetic wave transmission unit disposed on a surface of propagation sheet (301) to transmit the electromagnetic waves to propagation sheet (301), and an electromagnetic wave reception unit disposed on the surface of propagation sheet (301) to receive the electromagnetic waves propagated through propagation sheet (301). The electromagnetic wave transmission unit includes an electromagnetic wave generator, and a transmission electromagnetic wave coupler that couples electromagnetic waves generated by the electromagnetic wave generator with propagation sheet (301). The electromagnetic wave reception unit includes a reception electromagnetic wave coupler that couples the electromagnetic waves propagated through propagation sheet (301), and an electromagnetic wave output unit that outputs the electromagnetic waves coupled by the reception electromagnetic wave coupler. Propagation sheet (301) has a periodic structure that sets wavelengths of the electromagnetic waves propagated through propagation sheet (301) to be longer than the length of propagation sheet (301) in its extending direction.

    • A generator has a rotor boss engaged with a crankshaft with a rotor core engaged with the outer circumference of the rotor boss. A stator core is provided around the outer circumference of the rotor core with a bus ring opposed to one end surface of the rotor core. The outer circumference of the bus ring is engaged with a plurality of insulating components surrounding the teeth. The stator core has a split structure composed of a plurality of stator core blocks connected together. Each stator core block is fixed to a generator cover by a bolt. The generator cover is fixed to the outer surface of a crankcase. The rotor core is formed with a plurality of holes for respectively supporting a plurality of rotor magnets. The bus ring includes a plurality of terminals and grommets connected through bus bars to the terminals.

    • An optical object measurement apparatus includes a light source for generating a low-coherent light beam, which is swept via an array of pinholes on a Nipkow disk that rotates about an axis. A beam splitter splits the swept light beam into a probe light beam toward an object to be measured and a reference light beam toward a reference optical path. The probe light beam from the object and the reference light that has traveled along the reference optical path are combined in the beam splitter to produce interference light. A two-dimensional image-capturing device detects the interference light and produces a video signal to provide reflection intensity information of the interior of the object. This allows an interference optical system to be readily realized and tomographic images of an object to be observed at high levels of resolution and contrast.
