    • In an anti-lock brake system a differential pressure limiter (8) is fitted in front of the inlet valve (6). This has the effect of ensuring that there is always a definite pressure drop at the inlet valve (6) so that the noise emitted by the valve (6) is perceptibly reduced during regulation braking. As, when open, the inlet valve (6) has a slight choking action, it can occur that, during braking with cold brake fluid, there is a pressure drop at the inlet valve (6) which causes the differential pressure limiter to become blocked. It is therefore proposed to fit a bimetal spring (20) parallel to the control spring (15) of the differential pressure limiter (8) which expands when cold and exerts an additional force to that of the control spring (15) on the control piston (10). The application includes further alternative methods of affecting the temperature-dependent switching behaviour of the differential pressure limiter.

    • An automatic antiskid system comprises a unit consisting of a vacuum braking force booster and a master cylinder in tandem. An electronic regulator controls the inlet and lock valves of the pressure modulator for the wheel cylinders. The pressure bar piston and the brake pedal, with which it co-operates, must be positioned during the regulating process of the antiskid system prior to the starting position. This is achieved by varying the delivery volume of an auxiliary pump. To this end, the pump drive motor is switched on and off by a switch and by the electronic regulator. The switch is actuated by a Bowden cable cam arrangement. The core (53) of the Bowden cable (54) is connected to the diaphragm disk (52) of the vacuum braking force booster.     • The invention relates to a hydraulic double-circuit brake system for motor vehicles with a hydraulic high pressure source (5) with a pressure which can be fed via a pedal-operated dosing valve (7) into two brake circuits I and II. The advantage of these brake systems is that one high pressure source is sufficient for any type of braking, i.e. ABS, traction control and standard braking. To achieve active braking in both brake circuits, the high pressure source has to be connectable to the two brake circuits by bypassing the dosing valve (7), while keeping the circuits separate. This is achieved by a valve arrangement (39) which has a check valve in the pressure line (10) from the high pressure source (5) to the brake circuits (I, II), and the pressure line (10) divides into two pressure branches (29, 30) downstream of said valve. The pressure branches are provided with nonreturn valves (31, 32) which prevent return flow of pressure means. It is also possible to provide each pressure branch (29, 30) with a check valve.
