    • A novel heat developable light-sensitive material is provided comprising a silver halide spectrally sensitized by a polymethine containing at least one basic nucleus wherein the dye contains, as a group for substituting nitrogen atoms in said basic nucleus, at least one of the groups represented by general formulae (A) and (B): ##STR1##--(CH.sub.2 --.sub.2 NHSO.sub.2 Rwherein m represents an integer of 1 or 2; Y represents an atomic group necessary for the formation of a cyclic imide group; and R represents a C.sub.1-4 alkyl group.In a preferred embodiment, the atomic group represented by Y is selected from the group consisting of a succinic acid imido group, a phthalic acid imido group, an orthobenzosulfimido group, and a maleimido group. The atomic group may be optionally substituted by a halogen atom, a nitro group, a carboxyl group, an acylamino group such as an acetylamino group, or an alkoxycarbonyl amino group such as an ethoxycarbonyl group.

    • A silver halide photographic light-sensitive materials are described. In silver halide photographic printing paper comprising at least one silver halide photographic emulsion layer applied to a water impermeable reflective base, the printing paper of the present invention is in the improvement wherein said silver halide emulsion layer is spectrally sensitized with at least one cyanine dye represented by general formulae I and II, and an emulsified dispersion or latex dispersion of a water insoluble fluorescent whitening agent contained in a hydrophilic vehicle of at least one layer applied to the base on the same side as said silver halide emulsion layer: ##STR1## wherein Y.sub.1 and Y.sub.2 each represents an O atom, --N--R.sub.7 or a S atom, wherein R.sub.7 represents a lower alkyl group, A represents H or a lower alkyl group having 4 or less carbon atoms, R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 each represents --H, --CH.sub.3, --OCH.sub.3, --C.sub.2 H.sub.5, --OC.sub.2 H.sub.5, --CN, --Cl, --F, --CF.sub.3, --COOH, --COOCH.sub.3 or --COOC.sub.2 H.sub.5, R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 each represents substituted or non-substituted lower alkyl group, but at least one of R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 is substituted by a sulfo group, and X represents an anionic residue.

    • A silver halide photographic light-sensitive material is disclosed. The material is comprised of a support having thereon a red-sensitive silver halide photographic emulsion layer comprising a tetramethine melocyanine dye represented by the general formula (I) and a compound represented by the general formula (II) ##STR1## the substituents within these structural formulae are defined within the specification. The material gives improved results with respect to preventing diffuse sensitization. The material also provides a red-sensitive silver halide photographic emulsion in which a decline of spectro-sensitivity in the lapse of dissolution is relatively small and which has a small amount of dye fog.
