摘要： Aromatization of alkanes having one to four carbon atoms per molecule to aromatics, such as benzene, toluene and xylenes (BTX), uses a catalyst of a crystalline zeolite on which platinum has been deposited, specifically a platinum-containing ZSM-5. A byproduct of the process is a light gas fraction of methane and ethane. The use of a platinum-containing ZSM-5 catalyst in an alkane aromatization process, such as the Cyclar process, suppresses the formation of methane and increases selectivity to BTX. The high content of ethane relative to methane in the light gas fraction allows this process effluent to be a feedstream for a cracker.

摘要： An automated analyzer for performing multiple diagnostic assays simultaneously includes multiple stations, or modules, in which discrete aspects of the assay are performed on fluid samples contained in reaction receptacles. The analyzer includes stations for automatically preparing a specimen sample, incubating the sample at prescribed temperatures for prescribed periods, preforming an analyte isolation procedure, and ascertaining the presence of a target analyte. An automated receptacle transporting system moves the reaction receptacles from one station to the next. The analyzer further includes devices for carrying a plurality of specimen tubes and disposable pipette tips in a machine-accessible manner, a device for agitating containers of target capture reagents comprising suspensions of solid support material and for presenting the containers for machine access thereto, and a device for holding containers of reagents in a temperature controlled environment and presenting the containers for machine access thereto. A method for performing an automated diagnostic assay includes an automated process for isolating and amplifying a target analyte. The process is performed by automatically moving each of a plurality of reaction receptacles containing a solid support material and a fluid sample between stations for incubating the contents of the reaction receptacle and for separating the target analyte bound to the solid support from the fluid sample. An amplification reagent is added to the separated analyte after the analyte separation step and before a final incubation step.

An elongated gear rack interconnects the first and second article holders. A locking bar has a plurality of spaced teeth adapted for meshing with respective teeth of the gear rack in a locked position. The locking bar is moveable between the locked position and a released position. In the locked position, the meshing teeth of the locking bar and gear rack cooperate to prevent linear movement of the first article holder relative to the second article holder, thereby securing the first article to the second article. In the released position, the teeth of the locking bar and gear rack are sufficiently disengaged to allow free linear movement of the first article holder along the gear rack relative to the second article holder.

摘要： Chemiluminescent assays to determine the presence and/or amount of one or more labeled analytes in a sample are described wherein a solid support is contacted sequentially with first and second chemiluminescent substrates each of which are capable of being activated by an enzyme and the resulting chemiluminescent signals are detected. A plurality of probes are disposed on a surface layer of the solid support in a plurality of discrete areas. Some of the probes are bound to a conjugate of the first enzyme and some of the probes are bound to a conjugate of the second enzyme. The assay can be used to compare biological samples (e.g., mRNA populations from different cells) on the same support surface. Alternatively, one of the chemiluminescent signals generated can be used as a control signal for normalizing the chemiluminescent assay data.
