    • A device for controlling a turn running behavior of a vehicle detects at least one parameter (V, &ggr;, Gy, Gyh, &ggr;t, &ggr;t−&ggr;) with respect to the turn running behavior in addition to a drive direction of the vehicle, the one parameter being indicative of a higher desirability of the turn running behavior control according to changes of a magnitude thereof, calculates an amount (&Dgr;Ter, Froq, Friq, &Dgr;Tes, Fsop, Fsiq, Fsoq) for the turn running behavior control based upon the detected turn running behavior parameters, determines a start of the turn running behavior control according to the one turn running behavior parameter traversing a threshold value (Vrp, Vrq, &ggr;rp, &ggr;rq, Gyp, Gyq, Gyhp, Gyhq, Vsp, Vsq, &ggr;sp, &ggr;sq, &ggr;tsp, &ggr;tsq, &Dgr;&ggr;p, &Dgr;&ggr;q) determined therefor, and executes the turn running behavior control by operating at least one of the engine and the brake system according to the turn running behavior control amount, wherein threshold value is changed in a rearward drive of the vehicle as compared in a forward drive thereof such that the turn running behavior control is started at a lower degree of the desirability thereof in the rearward drive than in the forward drive.

    • A rotary compressor comprises an input shaft, a compressor component and a clutch component movable between an engaged position where the compressor component is connected to the input shaft to allow a torque to be transmitted from the input shaft to the compressor component and a disengaged position where the compressor component is disconnected from the input shaft to prevent the torque from being transmitted from the input shaft to the compressor component. A hydraulic pump is drivingly connected to the input shaft to discharge a pressurized working fluid upon the rotation of the input shaft. The clutch component includes a clutch member disposed within a clutch cylinder and cooperating therewith to define a pressure chamber. A valve unit is movable between a position where the pressurized working fluid from the pump is allowed to be applied to the pressure chamber to cause the clutch member to be engaged with a rotor member of the compressor component thereby moving the clutch component to the engaged position and a position where the pressurized working fluid from the pump is prevented from being applied to the pressure chamber to prevent the clutch member from engaging with the rotor member to move the clutch component to the disengaged position.

    • A variable capacity vane type compressor has an unloading mechanism operative to relieve a part of compressed fluid from a working chamber when in its compression stroke and an additional mechanism for controlling the suction of fluid into the compressor. The additional mechanism has a spool valve movable to a position to restrict the opening area of the compressor suction port. The spool valve is disposed in a passage communicated with the suction port and with a working chamber when in its compression stroke. The spool valve is formed therein with another passage which, when the spool valve is in the position to restrict the suction port, communicates the compression chamber with the suction port to relieve a part of the compressed fluid.

    • An automotive air conditioner has an air duct in which a refrigerant evaporator of a refrigeration cycle is disposed in fluid-flow communication with a variable capacity refrigerant compressor driven by an automotive engine and provided with compressor displacement varying members. A blower is provided to cause air to flow through the evaporator and through the duct into the passenger compartment. A sensor is provided to detect a condition representing the cooling operation of the evaporator, such as the air temperature downstream of the evaporator, surface temperature thereof or the pressure of the refrigerant at the evaporator. An electric controlling circuit is operative in response to signals from the sensor to actuate a servo motor which in turn drives the compressor displacement varying members whereby the capacity of the compressor is varied in accordance with the condition detected by the sensor.
