摘要： To provide a technique to reduce power consumption when carrying out image processing by processors. For the purpose of this, for example, a means for specifying a two-dimensional source register and destination register is provided in an operand of an instruction, and the processor includes a means which executes calculation using a plurality of source registers in a plurality of cycles and obtains a plurality of destinations. Moreover, in an instruction to obtain a destination using a plurality of source registers and consuming a plurality of cycles, a data rounding processing part is connected to a final stage of a pipeline. With such configurations, the power consumed when reading an instruction memory is reduced by reducing the access frequency to the instruction memory, for example.

摘要： The present invention provides a technology that is implemented in a motion compensation image coding device or a coding method and intended to code motion picture data in real time by performing a decreased number of arithmetic operations so as to determine a motion vector. In motion compensation image coding, macroblocks and sub-blocks into which each of the macroblocks is divided are searched for a motion vector with integer pixel precision. Based on the results of the search, a shape of a block that should be searched for a motion vector with decimal pixel precision is determined as a shape mode. The block of the shape mode is searched for a motion vector with decimal pixel precision, whereby a motion vector needed to produce predictive image data is determined.

摘要： An ink cartridge including: an ink chamber for retaining liquid ink; a foam chamber maintained in fluid communication with the ink chamber through a communication hole. An ink supply port for supplying ink from a porous body accommodated in the foam chamber to a recording head is provided. The portion of the foam body confronting the ink supply port is compressed by the ink supply port. The ratio between the amount of ink initially charged in the ink chamber and that of ink absorbed in the porous body is in the range from 1:1 to 1:3. When a cartridge uses more than one color of ink for printing in color, a plurality of foam and ink cartridges are used. The cartridge is filled under reduced pressure while the interior of the cartridge is further evacuated before filling with ink.

A pump controller 135 controls the pump which supplies a negative pressure for a prescribed period to a cap member of a recording head which has had an ink cartridge replaced (in the case where the mounting of an ink cartridge is detected by determiner 130). Ink is supplied only to a recording head which has had a cartridge replaced.

摘要： An ink tank cartridge is provided removably mountable onto an ink supply needle of the ink-jet type recording apparatus body. The cartridge has a housing provided with an ink supply port extending through and projecting from a wall of the housing and into the chamber of the housing. A porous member having ink impregnated thereon is positioned inside the chamber of the housing abutting against the ink supply port. A filter is mounted on the inner end opening of the ink supply port. The ink tank cartridge is further provided with a packing member for resiliently abutting against the outer periphery of the ink supply needle and is positioned adjacent one end of the ink supply port. The outer opening of the ink supply port is sealed with a sealing member through which the ink supply needle penetrates. A further porous member may be positioned in the ink supply port between the packing member and the filter to prevent a false ink end indication caused by air reaching an electrode of an ink end sensor positioned between the filter and the further porous member when the ink tank cartridge is removed from the recording apparatus.
