    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for preventing the generation of soot which can be the cause of operation trouble in a hydrocracking apparatus and for forming a product (gas/oil) into a light one.
      SOLUTION: The method for hydrocracking coal comprises: in a reaction furnace for carrying out hydrocracking gasification, when using the hydrocracking apparatus for the coal, having two-layered structure comprising a high-temperature gasification furnace in the lower layer 2 and a hydrocracking furnace in the upper layer 1, blowing in a carbonaceous raw material together with oxygen or the oxygen and steam through a gasification burner 5, generating a high-temperature gas by subjecting them to partial oxidation reaction and immediately introducing the high-temperature gas to the hydrocracking furnace (1), a hydrogen nozzle 4 is installed in the lower part of a coal-blowing nozzle 3, and/or installed in the outside of the coal-blowing nozzle when it is formed into a double pipe, and feeding a hydrogen-containing gas from the hydrogen nozzle.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide, regarding rotary type carbonization equipment of a partial combustion method in which a carbonization product is obtained by burning a part of the raw material by the air for carbonization blowing off from a plurality of air blowoff holes installed on the inner wall of a rotary kiln and by thermally decomposing and carbonizing the rest of the raw material by that heat, a rotary type carbonization kiln which makes it possible to prevent small pieces of the raw material from dropping on the air blowoff holes, to pass the air uniformly through the raw material layer, and to obtain a homogeneous good carbonized product. SOLUTION: The air blowoff holes 9 installed on the inner wall of the rotary kiln 1 are covered with air blowoff panels 11 having a multiplicity of air blow openings 14 with a smaller diameter. The small pieces 20a of the raw material which have dropped from the air blow openings 14 under the air blowoff panels 11 are returned again to the inside of the rotary kiln 1 from under the air blowoff panels 11 by the rotation of the rotary kiln 1.
