    • PURPOSE: To eliminate the necessity of a built-in battery and to attain miniaturization and long service life by converting a signal transmitted from an alarm into prescribed voltage and using the voltage as a power supply for a transmitting part. CONSTITUTION: At the time of detecting gas leakage or the like, an alarm 1 transmits an alarm signal to a transmitter 3. At normal (monitoring) time, the alarm 1 transmits a 6V voltage signal to the transmitter 3, but at the time of detecting gas leakage or the like, transmits a 12V voltage signal to the transmitter 3. A step down converter 5 converts the signal sent from the alarm 1 into 3V voltage e.g. and always supplies the converted voltage to a transmitting part 7 as power supply voltage. A signal detecting circuit 9 detects an alarm signal sent from the alarm 1 and transmits the detected result to a telegraphic message information setting circuit 11. The circuit 11 prepares a telegraphic message for transmitting the generation of an abnormal state (gas leakage) and a modulating/sending circuit 13 modulates the message and sends an alarm signal from an antenna 15 as a radio wave.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce current consumption by allowing a receiver to intermittently monitor a control signal transmitted from a transmitter and intermittently turned on after receiving the control signal. CONSTITUTION:Since the transmitter transmits an intermittent signal S12 to be turned on for X sec and turned off for Y sec to the receiver at the time of receiving an abnormal state detecting signal sent from a gas detector, the current consumption of the transmitter can be suppressed to a low level. On the other hand, the receiver monitors the signal S12 sent from the transmitter at the interval of time T2, and when the signal S12 is ON at received input check timing, monitors the signal S12 continuously for regulated time T3. When the signal S12 is transmitted during the period of the time T3, the receiver sends a control signal S15 to a microcomputer meter. At the time of receiving the signal S15, the microcomputer meter executes processing such as the interruption of gas. Since the signal S12 is intermittently monitored for (X + Y) sec, the current consumption of the receiver can be suppressed to a low level.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system, where an intermittent drive time interval for a PHS terminal is switched so as to enhance customer service and reduce a PHS terminal maintenance cost. SOLUTION: As soon as a gas plug closing command is sent, an intermittent drive time interval of a PHS terminal is switched from a time t1 (e.g., 6 hours) to a time t2 (e.g., 15 minutes), to reduce the waiting time. When receiving a gas plug open command, the plug opening processing is conducted in a comparatively short time to enhance the customer service performance. In a normal waiting state, the intermittent drive time interval is selected to be the time t1, so as to reduce the PHS terminal maintenance cost. When the intermittent drive time interval is selected to be the time t2 and no gas plug open command comes, even after the lapse of a prescribed time t4 (e.g., 3 days), the intermittent drive time interval is restored again to the time t1, to save power consumption of the PHS terminal.
