    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method in which good offset resistance is achieved, a fixing device and an image are not stained and excellent charging characteristics are ensured, and by which an image with few surface stains is formed, and also to provide a toner for electrostatic image development, a developer, and a process cartridge. SOLUTION: In the image forming method, a fixing device is used which has a heating roller 1 heated by electromagnetic induction, a fixing roller 2, a toner heating medium 3 and a pressure roller 4 forming a fixing nip part N, and a toner is used which is obtained by dissolving or dispersing a toner composition in an organic solvent, dispersing the resulting solution or dispersion in an aqueous medium containing fine resin particles, reacting it with a crosslinking agent, removing the solvent from the resulting dispersion to form particles, and treating the surfaces of the particles with a fluorine-containing compound, wherein a content of F in the toner detected by the XPS method is 2-30% by the number of atoms, and a content of fine resin particles is 0.5-5.0 mass%.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method and an image forming apparatus which can immediately detect soil on transfer paper or a fixing member, and prevent offset on the transfer paper or fixing member on the paper non-passage side caused by alteration of a transfer paper size width.
      SOLUTION: The image forming method comprises: a step of forming a latent image on a latent image carrier; a step of developing the latent image with developer containing toner; a step of transferring the developed toner image onto transfer paper; a step of fixing the toner image on the transfer paper under heat; and a step of cleaning the latent image carrier. In the image forming method, the step of fixing the toner image on the transfer paper under heat includes: detecting soil on the transfer paper and/or fixing member with a detecting means; and rotating the cleaning members, which are accommodated in a cleaning unit comprising a rotary body, in contact with the surface of the fixing member based on the result of the detection, thereby clearing away the soil on the fixing member.
