    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas decomposing apparatus capable of treating a large amount of a gas comprising harmful components, and of decomposing the gas by sufficiently heating the gas and thereafter allowing the gas to act on an electrode.SOLUTION: The gas decomposing apparatus 100 constituted of a cylindrical MEA (Membrane Electrode Assembly) 7 including a cylindrical solid electrolyte layer 1, a first electrode layer 2 formed and overlaid on the inner circumference thereof, and a second electrode layer 5 formed and overlaid on the outer circumference thereof, has a heating container 51 that houses and heats the cylindrical MEA. In the heating container, a gas flow path 90 is disposed to allow a first gas to be subjected to decomposition to flow in a manner of acting on the first electrode, while a second gas is allowed to flow through the cylindrical MEA.
