    • The present invention relates to solutions of isocyanato-isocyanurates based on mixtures of (i) 2,4- and/or 2,6-diisocyanato-toluene and (ii) 2,2'-, 2,4'- and/or 4,4'-diisocyanato-diphenyl methane in a molar ratio of (i) to (ii) of about 5:1 to 1:3, in plasticizers for polyvinyl chloride wherein the isocyanato-isocyanurates comprise about 1 to 50% by weight of the solution. The present invention also relates to a process for preparing these solutions which comprise partially trimerizing the isocyanate groups of the above diisocyanates using catalysts which accelerate the trimerization of isocyanate groups, the reaction either being conducted in the presence of plasticizers for polyvinyl chloride or the reaction product being dissolved in a plasticizer of this type, optionally after the separation of excess, unreacted diisocyanate.In addition, the present invention relates to the use of these solutions as adhesion-improving additives for coating compositions based on polyvinyl chloride. Besides improved adhesion, these compositions also demonstrate improved resistance to discoloration during thermal processing.

    • Process for the production of water-hardenable compositions of organic polyisocyanates and polyamines containing at least partly blocked amino groups present as ketimines, the combinations essentially representing mixtures and optionally reaction products containing urea groups by mixing the organic polyisocyanates with the polyamines in such quantities that the equivalent ratio of isocyanate groups to blocked and free amino groups is between about 0.9:1 and 4:1 and reacting any free amino groups present with some of the isocyanate groups in the polyisocyanate to form ureas, characterized in that the polyamines containing at least partly blocked amino groups used are mixtures comprising(a) from about 50 to 95 amine equivalent percent of organic compounds which are free from primary and secondary amino groups and which contain at least two ketimine groups corresponding to the following formula ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 represents an alkyl or cycloalkyl radical and R.sup.2 represents hydrogen or an alkyl or cycloalkyl radical or in which R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 form a cycloaliphatic hydrocarbon radical together with the two carbon atoms of the ketimine group and(b) from about 5 to 40 amine equivalent percent of organic compounds which are free from primary and secondary amino groups and which contain at least two ketimine groups of which one corresponds to the formula ##STR2## in which R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are as defined above, the other ketimine group(s) present correspond(s) to the formula shown in (a).

    • The present invention relates to moisture-hardening one-component lacquers having improved shelf life and thermal stability. These lacquers are characterized by high gloss and high flexural strength and are based on reaction products containing free isocyanate groups of relatively high molecular weight polyols having an average functionality of from 2 to 3, polyisocyanates and, optionally, low molecular weight polyhydroxyl compounds which are characterized in that the relatively high molecular weight polyol is a mixture of:(a) a hydroxyl polyester having an average molecular weight of from about 500 to 6000,(b) a hydroxyl polyether corresponding to the following general formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents hydrogen, a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl radical or a phenyl radical,X represents one of the difunctional radicals --S--, --O--, --SO.sub.2 --, --CO-- or --C(R.sub.2 R.sub.3)-- whereR.sub.2 and R.sub.3, which may be the same or different, represent hydrogen or a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl radical, andn and m each represent an integer of 22 0, the value of (n+m) being selected in such a way that the hydroxyl polyether has an average molecular weight of from about 300 to 1200. The present invention also relates to processes for the coating of substrates, particularly leather, and the coated substrates produced therefrom.
