    • A light-sensitive silver halide color photographic material comprising a support having thereon at least one silver halide emulsion layer, wherein the silver halide color photographic material comprises at least one layer containing a 5-pyrazolone magenta coupler represented by general formula (I) and a non-color forming, diffusion-resistant carboxylic acid compound: ##STR1## wherein W represents an aryl group; Y represents a carbonamido group, a ureido group or an anilino group; and R represents an alkyl group, an aryl group or a heterocyclic group.The silver halide color photographic material has high sensitivity, high color forming property, good formalin resistivity and good preservability, and provides magenta color images having good stability.

    • For incorporation of substantially water-insoluble photographic additives such as couplers into hydrophilic organic colloid layers of silver halide photographic materials, a phthalic acid ester of a formula (I): ##STR1## where R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 may be same or different and each represents a branched alkyl group having no more than 7 carbon atoms, is used so that said additives can effectively be dispersed in the colloid layers. Accordingly, the solubility and dispersibility of the additives is improved; the long-term stability of the additive dispersion is improved, and further and latent image storability and color-forming properties of the photographic material are also improved over the prior art photographic materials.
