    • A server computer 11 in a data transmission system receives data processing demand packets sent in from any of a plurality of terminal computers on the network via a specific terminal port on the switching hub, and a group of sending data packets is formed against the data processing demand packets and at the same time this sending data packet group is sent, via the specific terminal port, to the terminal computer 12 that sent out the data processing demand packet. The terminal port manager first finds out, on the basis of the information contained in the data processing demand packet, the number of the terminal port on the switching hub 13 to which the terminal computer, the destination of the sending data packet group, is connected; a terminal port number checker then checks the terminal port numbers found out by the terminal port manager if the terminal port numbers for sending data packets formed on the basis of consecutively received processing demand packets are the same; and then an output regulator adjusts the time of sending out the second sending data packet unit for the data processing demand packet if the two consecutive terminal port numbers are found identical by the terminal port checker. This way, the possibility is precluded that there will be a rush of sending data packets to the same terminal port.

    • An electrostatic photographic apparatus includes a photosensitive drum and a fixing device composed of a pair of rollers pressure-contacted with each other over a predetermined nip width, in which a toner image formed on the photosensitive drum is transferred onto a lower surface of a transfer paper transported over an upper portion of the photosensitive drum while contacting therewith and is fixed by a nip portion of the rollers of the fixing device, an inlet end of the nip portion is disposed on a curve of a cross section of the transfer paper when the latter is warped with a radius of curvature smaller than a radius of curvature of cross section of a transfer paper having stiffness smallest among other transfer papers usable in the apparatus when the transfer paper of the smallest stiffness is supported at its rear end horizontally at a point at which the transfer paper leaves the photosensitve drum while allowing the other portion thereof to be drooped freely by gravity, a tangential line of the rollers at a center of the nip portion being substantially coincident with a tangential line of the curve, and guide member having a lower guide surface convexed upwardly is arranged along the curve between the separating point of the transfer paper from the photosensitive drum and the inlet end of the nip portion.

    • A multi-scale indicator which has a main scale and a sub-scale is constructed so as to prevent a misreading between the main scale and the sub-scale. A sub-scale prism and the light source which illuminates only the sub-scale are light insulated from the main scale prism and the light source which illuminates the main scale, due to the sub-scale prism being securely buried within a circular arc shaped prism receiving groove which is formed on the main scale prism. Light opaque paint is spread between the main scale prism and the sub-scale prism to prevent the occurrence of light leakage therebetween. Also provided is an electrical control for supplying a light to the sub-scale prism only when the pointer is moved to a predetermined zone located on the end of the main scale.
