    • A fin-tube type heat exchanger has parallel heat transfer tubes and a stack of a plurality of plate fins mounted on the tubes. Heat exchange is conducted between a first fluid flowing through the tubes and a second fluid flowing through the stack across each of the fins. Each fin has flat tube-mounting portions spaced in the longitudinal direction of the fin and formed with tube-mounting holes and a louver section disposed between each adjacent pair of tube-mounting portions. The louver section has elongated slats extending longitudinally of the fin and having side edges each spaced from an adjacent side edge of an adjacent slat. The slats are classified into two groups in respect of the cross-sectional shape. The slats of one group have generally flat cross-sections to reduce the resistance of the fin to the flow of the second fluid through the stack and are disposed in planes offset from the plane of the tube-mounting portions. The slats of the other group have V-shaped or inverted V-shaped cross-sections to increase stiffness of the fin in the longitudinal direction thereof.

    • A magazine for holding a plurality of articles, such as cartons, which are to be singularly withdrawn at a downstream end, and a method of feeding articles. The magazine includes guides, spaced apart by a distance greater than the width of the cartons in their folded condition, thereby creating a gap between an inner guide surface and one of the edges of the cartons. A pair of stoppers project from the inner guide surfaces and are spaced apart by a distance less than the width of the cartons, to thereby hold the most downstream carton in a position to facilitate its withdrawal at the discharge end of the magazine. A feed roller projects from one inner guide surface toward the other inner guide surface upstream of the discharge end. At least one carton is engaged between the roller and the other inner guide surface to isolate a predetermined number of folded cartons downstream of the feed roller from a second predetermined quantity of folded cartons upstream of the feed roller. Further, due to the engagement of the edges of the most downstream carton and the stoppers, as the carton is withdrawn from the magazine, the carton is more fully opened to thereby facilitate its subsequent complete opening. A supply conveyor is provided upstream of the guide surfaces. The supply conveyor and the feed roller can be driven synchronously in response to the sensing of a reduction in the quantity of cartons in the downstream portion of the magazine.

    • Providing a flush bowl capable of discharging a planar shower-like water discharge flow in a wide range while changing the water discharge trajectory is directed. The shower device according to an embodiment of the invention is a shower device including: a water discharger including a plurality of water discharge ports; a rotator including a channel at its center; a coupling section coupling the inside of the water discharger to the channel of the rotator; a receiving section receiving the rotator; a driving mechanism configured to rotate and revolve the rotator in the receiving section; and a decelerating section provided inside the water discharger. The plurality of water discharge ports is provided asymmetrically with respect to a central axis of the rotator, or discontinuously in a peripheral direction, the water discharger is configured to rotate and revolve by rotation and revolution of the rotator caused by the driving mechanism, the plurality of water discharge ports is configured to cause rotational trajectories of water discharged from the water discharge ports to undergo a periodic rotary motion associated with the rotation of the rotator, the decelerating section has an area larger than a cross-sectional area of the coupling section, and the water discharge ports have a smaller total cross-sectional area than the decelerating section so as to accelerate water decelerated by the decelerating section.
