    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller of a hybrid vehicle which can start an engine without giving a sense of incongruity to a driver.
      SOLUTION: In the hybrid vehicle, an engine 2, a first motor 3, a second motor 4 and an output shaft 6 which serves as coupling relation by a planetary gear unit. The controller 1 of the hybrid vehicle includes an engine control means 20 capable of controlling to drive the engine 2, and a motor control means 24 capable of controlling to drive the first motor 3 and the second motor 4. The motor control means 24 controls to drive the first motor 3 and the second motor 4 within a motor limiting torque retaining an excess force for smoothly starting the engine 2 by the first motor 3 and the second motor 4 during traveling during controlling to stop the engine 2 by the engine control means 20. Thus, when the engine 2 is started, the engine 2 can be smoothly started, and prevents a driver from being given by a sense of incongruity.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control device capable of controlling a clutch into the condition immediately before engagement in compliance with its change with the lapse of time on the basis of the condition of an automatic transmission while the vehicle remains at a standstill and the engine is in the starting state. SOLUTION: In the case the engine stop conditions are met while the vehicle is stopping, and also the engine starting conditions other than a start request are met from the condition the engine is stopped (at t4), a low pressure control is made for the oil pressure PC1 of a clutch which connects and disconnects the engine to/from the driving wheels. Then a neutral (N) control is started to put the oil pressure PC1 in the standby pressure in the condition immediately before the clutch is engaged on the basis of the difference between the engine speed Ne and input shaft revolving speed, and the clutch is controlled into the condition immediately before engagement in compliance with its change with time. If a start request is placed by the driver (at t8), the clutch is engaged immediately by raising the oil pressure PC1 because the oil pressure PC1 is controlled to the standby pressure in the condition immediately before engagement.
