    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle door latch device which can be manually switched to a latched position when a motor for rotating and driving a pawl stops at an unlatched position. SOLUTION: The vehicle door latch device includes a release input panel 170, a slide-rotation panel 175 and a release lever 165 which are connected to be rotatable at a normal time. The slide-rotation panel 175 is movable to a power blocking position by pressing operation through an emergency operation hole formed at a slide door. At the power blocking position, the connection among the rotation panels 165, 170, 175 is released, so that the release input panel 170 and the release lever 165 can be rotated independently. Then, the pawl 30 becomes rotatable with respect to the latched position by an urging force of a torsion spring.
