    • The present invention relates to an image processing apparatus, an image processing method, an image processing system, a program, and a recording medium which are capable of obtaining an image of a wide dynamic range subjected to brightness compression. The allocation of the number of brightness grayscale steps of an output level signal with respect to the level of an input brightness signal differs for the main area and second brightness area, and the other ranges. For example, the whole number of grayscale steps is divided up and allocated to the brightness range of the main area and the brightness range of the second brightness area and the number of grayscale steps is not allocated to the other ranges. A smaller number of steps than for the brightness range of the main area and the second brightness area is allocated to the brightness range between the main area and second brightness area. In addition, an area constituting the boundary part between the brightness range of the main area and the second area can be set and allocated with a smaller number of steps than for the brightness range of the main area and the second brightness area and a larger number of steps than for the area between the main area and the second brightness area. The present invention can be applied to an image processing apparatus.

    • When a service providing server receives, from a mobile phone or the like owned by a user, a request to modify a parameter defining the performance of a control device provided in an automobile, the service providing server transmits a requested modification command to the control device. The control device modifies the parameter thereof in accordance with the modification command received from the service providing server. Further, the service providing server records a history of the modification command having been transmitted on a user-by-user basis, and settles an account of the user every predetermined period of time, by requesting the user to pay a fee for the modification. Thus, a service provider is able to charge the user for modifying various parameters defining performance of the control device.

    • [Problems] There are provided a device and a method for telephone countermeasure in using a telephone during driving which can automatically suppress communication of only a driver in a vehicle. [Means For Solving Problems] The device for telephone countermeasure includes a database (3), a driver judgment unit, and a mode switching unit. The database (3) contains driver face data (3-1) and a telephone number (3-2) of a mobile telephone (7) used by the driver for each of the drivers. The driver judgment unit identifies the current driver of the vehicle in the database (3) by the face authentication. The mode switching unit extracts the telephone number (3-2) of the mobile telephone (7) used by the identified driver from the database (3) and switches the mobile telephone (7) of the driver to a drive mode such as a message recording mode by using the telephone number.
