Let a read period be T, a read time of the R filter 1d is selected to be 0-T/5, a read time of the G filter 1e is selected to be 1/4T-9/20T and a read time of the B filter 1f is selected to be 1/2T-7/20T. Thus, in the case of the forward path read system, a switching time to the return path is utilized.

Then a color read of a document is made by sequentially switching the polarization directions of the color-separated image light transmitted through the electrooptic elements 8 each time a vertical scan is made.

CONSTITUTION: A substrate holder 4 is set to a Ti target 3 inside a sputtering chamber 2. To vacuumize the sputtering chamber 2 by a vacuum pump 1. After a metal film serving as an electrode is formed, oxygen gas is introduced to the sputtering chamber 2 for forming a surface oxide of the same metal on the metal film at a substrate temperature of 100-400 deg.C. Therefore, forming of the metal film and the surface oxide by sputtering in one batch at a low temperature suppresses fluctuation of a boiling initiation time and a dot size caused by oxidation of an electrode surface in an initial stage of electric conduction. Furthermore, a pattern failure in a photolithographic process can be reduced, and the number of processes can be reduced.

Information when the piezoelectric elements 7a and 7b are displaced upward at a maximum is read by a line image sensor 6. In this case, the color separation filter 8 becomes perpendicular to the optical axis by the deformation of the elastic rubber 1 and deviation of an image formation plane due to the tilting of the color separating filter 8 is caused. Therefore, a general fluorescent lamp is usable as a light source and only one line image sensor 6 and one read circuit are needed to form the device to small size; and the optical axis never shifts whichever color filter makes a read and the luminous flux can accurately be formed on the line image sensor 6.

The magnetic fields from the suspensions 8 concentrate to the soft magnetic films 9 having the high magnetic permeability in proximity thereto and the leak magnetic fields to the soft magnetic metallic thin films 1 forming the magnetic cores 4, 5 in the lower part decrease drastically even if the suspensions 8 are magnetized. Then, the floating type magnetic head having the excellent electromagnetic conversion characteristics and high reliability is obtd.
