    • A fuel injection nozzle for internal combustion engines, having a valve needle loaded with a closing spring and having a damping device which damps the end stroke (h.sub.2), leading into the fully open position of the valve needle, in accordance with the number of strokes and/or stroke length of the valve needle or with the quantity of fuel put through per injection event. The valve needle is coupled with a second damping device, which in partial-load and full-load operation also, at least intermittently, damps the initial stroke (h.sub.1), leading out of the closing position, of the valve needle. As a result it is attained that for a wide range of the performance graph, the ratio of the injection quantity to the duration of injection can be optimized in terms of the fuel consumption and emission of toxic substances, without having to accept increased combustion noise in the critical ranges.

    • A fuel injection nozzle for internal combustion engines, provided with a valve needle and an induction coil, which sits in a spacer plate mounted between the nozzle body and the nozzle holder. The valve needle projects into the induction coil and acts upon the magnetic domain of the induction coil by the action of its movement, whereby a signal dependent on the velocity of the needle is produced. The induction coil is provided with laterally disposed contact prongs which are connected with extended connecting wires by means of a weld or solder joint. The connecting wires lead through boreholes in the nozzle holder. The injection nozzle is distinguished by an especially small electrical line resistance, and by the fact that, with appropriate dimensioning and construction of the ends of the connecting wires, which carry the extended connection contacts, there will be no special contact measures necessary for disassembly.

    • To provide for coupling the injection needle of a Diesel injection valve with an inertia mass, and thereby provide for speed damping of the movement of the valve, the pressurized Diesel fuel is applied to a chamber (20,68) in the valve body (10,12,14), which slidably retains the needle valve element (18) at a location downstream of the inertia mass, the inertia mass subdividing the chamber into a spring or pressure chamber (20) and a damping chamber (68) forming a dead, or storage chamber for fuel, the inertia mass being slidable in the second chamber and the clearance between the inertia mass and the walls of the chamber forming a throttled connection duct so that, upon command to opening movement, the needle valve element will engage, after a short dead distance (v), the inertia mass (62) which must move against the flow resistance through the throttled connection upon shifting of fuel between the first and second chamber and thus damping the speed of operation of the valve element. The pressure differential at the two sides of the inertia mass will act on the entire cross-sectional area of the inertia mass, to provide high initial damping of the valve needle movement upon initiation of an opening stroke, while permitting a slim construction minimizing external diameter.
