    • A fuel injection nozzle having an outwardly opening valve needle to which a piston is connected and on which a cap is mounted. The cap encloses a damping chamber, which communicates in a throttled manner, via the play between the piston and the cap, with the flow course of the fuel. Oriented toward the cap is a blocking shoulder attached to the housing, which shoulder restrains the cap, after an undamped pre-stroke (h.sub.v), relative to the valve needle, which continues to move, its continued movement being damped thereby. A spring acts via a spacer body upon the cap, the spacer body keeping the cap at a distance from the blocking shoulder corresponding to the pre-stroke (h.sub.v) in the closing position of the valve needle. As a result, the prescribed set-point value of the pre-stroke (h.sub.v) can be adhered to very precisely.

    • A fuel injection nozzle for internal combustion engines is proposed, which includes a valve needle stressed by a closing spring and a damping device to partially damp the opening movement of the valve needle. The damping is effected in accordance with the stroke frequency, the stroke length of the valve needle, or both, or the quantity of fuel throughput per injection cycle, and the damping effect is preferably variable automatically by shifting the time of the onset of damping relative to the onset of injection. As a result, an adaptation of the damping effect to the operating state of the engine at a particular time can be attained which substantially meets the ideal parameters for such damping.

    • A fuel injection nozzle for internal combustion engines, having an outwardly opening valve needle, which is connected with a piston upon which a damping cap is placed, which is supported on a shoulder integral with the housing. In the damping cap, a damping chamber is formed, which communicates via a throttle conduit with the flow path of the fuel. The diameter of the piston is smaller than the cross section enclosed by the valve seat, as a result of which an annular shoulder is attained, on which the unthrottled fuel pressure acts upon the valve needle in the opening direction. This disposition has the advantage that at lower rpm and smaller fuel quantities, the valve needle can be effectively braked even up to relatively long needle strokes, without the injection duration becoming overly long at higher rpm.

    • A fuel injection nozzle for internal combustion engines, having a valve needle loaded with a closing spring and having a damping device which damps the end stroke (h.sub.2), leading into the fully open position of the valve needle, in accordance with the number of strokes and/or stroke length of the valve needle or with the quantity of fuel put through per injection event. The valve needle is coupled with a second damping device, which in partial-load and full-load operation also, at least intermittently, damps the initial stroke (h.sub.1), leading out of the closing position, of the valve needle. As a result it is attained that for a wide range of the performance graph, the ratio of the injection quantity to the duration of injection can be optimized in terms of the fuel consumption and emission of toxic substances, without having to accept increased combustion noise in the critical ranges.

    • A fuel injection nozzle for internal combustion engines, provided with a valve needle and an induction coil, which sits in a spacer plate mounted between the nozzle body and the nozzle holder. The valve needle projects into the induction coil and acts upon the magnetic domain of the induction coil by the action of its movement, whereby a signal dependent on the velocity of the needle is produced. The induction coil is provided with laterally disposed contact prongs which are connected with extended connecting wires by means of a weld or solder joint. The connecting wires lead through boreholes in the nozzle holder. The injection nozzle is distinguished by an especially small electrical line resistance, and by the fact that, with appropriate dimensioning and construction of the ends of the connecting wires, which carry the extended connection contacts, there will be no special contact measures necessary for disassembly.
