    • In a sliding roof for automobiles, comprising a sliding lid guided on guide rails in a roof opening, a lid liner, which participates in the lid displacements, is connected with the sliding lid by guide elements, which, during lowering movements of the sliding lid, simultaneously raise the lid liner and, during raising of the sliding lid into its closed position, simultaneously lower the lid liner until it lies flush with the fixed liner without any step. To prevent a gap from remaining in the closed position between the peripheral edges of the lid liner and fixed liner opening, which would make possible penetration of noise into the vehicle interior, it is provided that the peripheral edge of the lid liner possess a downwardly facing bearing surface, opposite which there is a correspondingly upwardly facing counter-surface at the peripheral edge of the fixed liner opening, in such a manner that the bearing surface and the counter-surface bear against each other without a gap in the closed position. As soon as a slight upward movement occurs, the bearing surface lifts off the counter-surface to form a ventilating gap.

    • An air guide device, which is suitable both for sliding roofs and for sliding-lifting roofs, comprises a wind deflector plate, pivotally journalled by hinge assemblies beneath a front, fixed automobile roof, the pivotal movements of which deflector plate are controlled by control members, displaceably driven by the drive system of the sliding lid, which control members for this purpose bear from above on control surfaces formed on the wind deflector plate. The control members do not release the control surfaces until, in the opening displacement of the sliding lid, the latter has opened sufficiently far for the wind deflector plate, subject to the action of springs acting in the upward pivoting direction, to pivot upwards beyond the automobile roof without striking the slid lid. In the reverse movement direction, the control members run onto the control surfaces before the sliding lid has reached its closure position and pivot the wind deflector plate against the force of the springs into the at-rest position of the air guide device.

    • A lid liner for a rigid lid of a sliding-lifting roof for an automobile includes a liner plate having a ventilation opening closed by a ventilation flap. The ventilation flap in its closed position lies flush at its lower with the lower face of the liner plate and possesses at its periphery a downwardly facing bearing surface, opposite to which there is a corresponding, upwardly facing counter-surface around the periphery of the ventilation opening. The two surfaces bear against each other without a gap in the closed position, thereby serving to enhance the appearance of the interior of the vehicle and to suppress the penetration of travel noise through the ventilation when closed by the ventilation flap.

    • In a sliding-lifting roof, in which a lid associated with a roof opening is pivotally mounted on an intermediate frame in the vicinity of its forward edge, apart from forward sliding elements, there is provided for the sliding guidance of the lid on lateral guide rails and driven rear sliding elements, guide carriages which are capable of being coupled to the rear sliding elements and are also guided on the guide rails, which are connected with the intermediate frame by link rods. The guide carriages and the link rods permit a lowering movement of the lid, by means of which, in spite of the use of an intermediate frame for the edge gap sealing, a small overall height is attained, because the lid is displaced in a parallel position and not in an inclined position beneath the fixed automobile roof. The pivotal movements of the lid are effected through two guide blocks which for this purpose engage with only one guide pin. a reliable holding of the lid is achieved in all pivoted positions of the lid.
