    • In a pre-filled Foley catheter for urine drainage, the conventional clip for releasing sterile water from a bulb (21) at the proximal end of the catheter, to fill the anchor bulb (20) at the distal end of the device, is replaced by a plug (25) which has an annular portion connected to a thin stem (27) by a circle of weakness. Snapping the stem (27) from the annulus provides a tactile signal through the opaque latex lumen that the catheter has been actuated. There is no separate clip to be disposed of. The interface between the latex and the plug remains undisturbed. Further improvement in the shelf- life and convenience of use of the catheter is delivered by the use of a sleeve, which can be of shrink-wrap material, around the bulb (21) and optionally also around the drain coupling (15) of the catheter. Apparatus for placing the plug and the sleeve is also described.

    • A process for extracting flax protein concentrate from flax meal is disclosed wherein flax meal is added to an aqueous acidic solution to form a first mixture having a solid fraction and an aqueous fraction containing water soluble-carbohydrates. The mixture is separated and the solid fraction is then hydrolyzed using a lipolytic enzyme. An aqueous alkali solution is then added to the hydrolyzed solution to form a second mixture having a second aqueous fraction containing said flax protein, and a second solid fraction. The second mixture is then separated into the aqueous fraction and the solid fraction, such that the second aqueous fraction may be evaporated to recover the flax protein.

    • Systems, methods, and apparatus for fault detection and interruption in power lines are provided. Circuitry is implemented via software and hardware that is configured to sense an operational aspect of a power line, such as current levels in a three-phase power line, and apply signal processing to the sensed operational aspect to detect faults including different types of faults such as transient and steady state faults and can also be configured to identify the type of fault. Information on the fault and the identification of the type of fault can be displayed, stored, or some other output operation can be implemented. Circuitry can be implemented to provide digital signal processing and analog signal processing to, for example, independently and in parallel (e.g., redundant operation) detect faults and respond to faults as they occur (i.e., in real time).
