    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording material conveyance apparatus and an image forming apparatus which prevent a rotor from being damaged even when a jam occurs during conveyance of a good strong recording material.SOLUTION: When jam occurs in a fixing unit 15 during conveyance of good strong paper sheet P and the trailing end of the paper sheet P is continued to be conveyed in the image forming apparatus 100 in which a detachment claw 21 is disposed in a primary transfer belt 6, the paper sheet P is bent in a convex shape with respect to the detachment claw 21, and therefore a support member 22 is disposed between the detachment claw 21 and the fixing unit 15 to support the bent paper sheet P. Further, a retreat conveyance guide 23 is disposed between the support member 22 and the fixing unit 15, which is displaced when it is pressed to the paper sheet P, thereby bending the paper sheet P in a space widened by the displacement of the retreat conveyance guide 23. The paper sheet P is supported by the support member 22. When the trailing end is continued to be conveyed in a state where a front end side is bent in a convex shape with respect to the retreat conveyance guide 23, the paper sheet P is bent in an S shape, and thus the paper sheet P is prevented from pressing the detachment claw 21.
