    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compensate for misregistration caused by rotation-vibration inside a sheet-fed rotary press. SOLUTION: A method of compensating misregistration comprises the following steps. While the press passes a print rotation number range within a range of a predetermined resonant rotation number under a print condition, the rotation-vibration in a drive gear train ARZ and misregistration in an attached print device or painting device are detected for once. A discrete harmonic content in which misregistration appears outside a tolerance range out of the rotation-vibration detected in the resonant rotation number range is computed. From the harmonic content of the detected rotation-vibration, a parameter for the harmonic compensation moment in the opposite direction is computed. The relationship between the parameter for the compensation moment and those in the resonant rotation number range is stored. At the print operation the drive moment for a main drive motor M within the resonant rotation number range is superimposed on the stored compensation moment depending upon the rotation number.
