CONSTITUTION:The conductive roll is constituted by forming the conductive layer 12 on the outer periphery of a shaft body 11 along the circumference, and the conductive layer 12 is formed by using setting resin, derived from the epoxy resin, tert-butyl phenol novolak resin setting agent, as the base material and dispersing conductive particles in the base material. Namely, the epoxy resin and tert-butyl phenol novolak resin (tBu-phenol novolak) are used in combination as the conductive resin material which constitutes a developing roll, and then when negative electrostatically charged toner is charged electrostatically to the negative polarity by the developing roll which uses the conductive roll, the electrostatic charging quantity of negative charges is improved since the tert-buthy group is high in electron donative ability. Consequently, the picture quality increase effect of the copy image is obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain uniform, effective and sufficiently high copied image density by using resin as a matrix component and dispersing at least one of titanium black and magnetic iron oxide to constitute a conductive layer. CONSTITUTION:In order to produce the conductive roll, one or both of titanium black and magnetic iron oxide which are conductive materials are blended into phenolic resin to a matrix component, mixed and agitated to form a mixed resin solution consisting of the conductive material. The mixed resin solution is stored in a tank 13 as a dipping solution. Then a core bar is vertically set up and repeatedly dipped into the mixed resin solution to form a conductive layer on the outer periphery of the core bar 12. The solvent is removed by drying it and the phenolic resin is cured by heating to form a conductive layer 14. Since the conductive roll formed by this procedure is used as a developing roll, uniform copied pictures can be obtained without generating uneven images or the like and sufficiently high image density can be obtained.

CONSTITUTION:In order to produce the conductive roll, one or both of titanium black and magnetic iron oxide to be conductive materials are mixed into epoxy resin as matrix component and the mixture is mixed and agitated to form a mixed resin solution consisting of the conductive materials. The mixed resin solution is stored in a tank 13 as a dip solution.     • PURPOSE:To form a conductive plastic layer having high conducting property over the outer surface of a metal shaft by mixing thermoplastic resin powder with conductive powder and inserting thereinto a metal shaft which has been heated to a temperature higher than the melting point of said powder. CONSTITUTION:Thermoplastic resin powder is mixed with conductive powder to form powder molding material 1. Then the material 1 is put in a fluid tank 2 and a metal shaft 3 having been heated to a temperature about 30 deg.C higher than the melting point of the material 1 is inserted thereinto. As a result, the powder molding material 1 in contact with the outer surface of the shaft 3 is instantly melted and then instantly solidified by the removal of heat caused by the power present in the surrounding region, so that a conductive plastic layer with even thickness is formed over the outer surface of the shaft 3. In this manner, conductive powder is uniformly distributed and hence uneven distribution of electric resistance in resin layers can be minimized.
