    • A CMOS constant voltage generator circuit having input and output stages and at least one compensation stage. Each stage can comprise a single transistor or more typically a transistor stack. Current mirroring is performed between the input stage and compensation stage, as well as preferably between the input stage and output stage. The compensation stage also provides additional biasing to a transistor in the output stage to increase voltage regulation. Optionally, degeneration resistors (passive or active) are coupled to the source side, drain side, or a combination of source and drain sides in the compensation and output stages. Optionally, additional diode-coupled transistors are incorporated in the transistor stack of the output stage. The circuit provides accurate voltage reference (V ref ) output with lowered sensitivity to temperature and supply voltage.

    • A tea bag press and container assembly configured for receiving a tea bag during or after brewing, which conceals the wet tea bag, collects dripping liquid, and extracts tea liquid essence by efficiently compressing the wet tea bag vertically or sidewardly. In a vertical compression embodiment, a lid (30) has an integral press element (76) that compresses the tea bag against a tea bag support means (90, 104) in the bottom of the container upon applying pressure to the lid. In a sideward compression embodiment, a flexible, double-wall container (130) retains the tea bag during sideward compression, such as between the thumb and fingers, for releasing tea liquid from the bag. The tea bag press-container assembly is designed to reduce staining and mess on saucers, tables and fabric caused by a dripping tea bag and provides efficient extraction and pouring of tea liquid into an existing beverage, or the brewing of an additional beverage.

    • A series inline continuously variable transmission (SICVT) in which two series coupled continuously variable transmissions are in an inline configuration is provided to be used in rear-wheel drive vehicles. Two sets of pulleys are connected in series to square the reduction and bring the input and output shafts inline. The input and output pulleys are configured for actuation by hydraulic pistons for shifting, while the idler pulley set may be implemented without a need for actuation. Displacement of the actuated pulleys results in the square of the original ratio change. The SICVT is compact and efficient, and can be used in all types and sizes of vehicles including gasoline and diesel powered vehicles and electric, fuel cell electric, and all types of hybrid electric vehicles. Additional CVT stages can be provided for further reduction in size.

    • An apparatus and method of detecting scene changes within a video frame sequence. A video data frame pixel array is partitioned into pixel groups within a frame difference engine. Video data matching of each pixel group is compared between a preceding and following video frame. By way of example pixel group matching can be determined in response to comparing the sums of absolute pixel luminance and/or chrominance differences between corresponding pixels in corresponding pixel groups within the sequential frames against a threshold value. If an insufficient number of pixel groups match, then a scene change signal is output, such as to the encoder which decides whether to encode the entire frame or changes from prior frames. A media communication system is also described, preferably implemented within an SoC, which wirelessly communicates encoded video data for substantially simultaneous viewing by a receiver.

Various forms of SRAM devices may be fabricated utilizing the techniques, such as single port and dual port RAM devices. By way of example the SRAM structure utilizes separate write and read lines, splits the circuit into portions which can benefit from having differing threshold levels, and can allow splitting read path transistors for connection to a first terminal and a virtual node connected to a source transistor. The structure is particularly well suited for forming transistors in a combination of NMOS and PMOS, or solely in NMOS. Memory arrays may be organized according to the invention in a number of different distributed or lumped arrangements with the reference read paths and sense blocks being either shared or dedicated.
