    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an optimum structure by combining the cooling of the lamp of a light source and of a liquid crystal panel of a liquid crystal projector and the dustproof processing of the image forming surface of the liquid crystal panel. SOLUTION: The cooling means of the light source is connected to the cooling means of the liquid crystal panel by a duct, a ventilation means is provided to send air from the liquid crystal panel side with a low control temperature to the light source side with a high control temperature, and one cooling means is used as two cooling elements. A plurality of cooling settings including a series operation of fan is further enabled for the purpose of dealing with the change of condition settings. The light entering/outgoing surface of the liquid crystal panel is placed in an almost enclosed space including an optical axis, and the cooling means of the liquid crystal panel is placed outside the almost enclosed space.
