摘要： PURPOSE: To inexpensively prohibit the mounting of different cassettes and to obtain a disk device adequate for large-capacity CDs by providing the disk device with a means for discriminating the different disks. CONSTITUTION: The side face part 4c of a shutter 4 of a disk cartridge 100 is provided with a hole 4s for discrimination from a CD caddy and is provided with a projecting part 210 on a disk device 200 side in correspondence to the hole 4s in a position where the cartridge 100 is inserted to the inner-most position. The cartridge 100 is so constituted that the insertion of the cartridge 100 is completed only when the projecting part 210 fits into the hole 4s. After the sensor detects the insertion to the completion position, the entire part of the cartridge 100 is moved in the axial direction of rotation of the disk to complete the mounting of the disk recordably and reproducibly. Since the CD caddy is not provided with the hole 4s, the side face part 4c of the shutter 4 and the front end of the projecting part 210 collide against each other just before the completion of the insertion. The completion of the insertion is thus not possible. As a result, the mounting of the CD caddy is prohibited.

At the time of reproducing video software by a user, a video signal and a control signal recorded on a tape are outputted, inputted to a reproducing circuit 6 and the number of times of reproduction is read. When the number of times of reproduction is below the number of times of enabled reproduction sent from the transmitter 1, the video signal is subjected to de-scrambling processing and pictured on a display 7 after D/C conversion. When the number of times of reproduction is larger than the number of times of enabled reproduction, it is pictured on the display 7 while being scrambled as it is.
