    • A pressure difference rearward of a windshield is efficiently corrected in a windshield unit for a saddle-ride type vehicle provided with two types of air ducts for directing the air flow from the front of the vehicle to the upside of the vehicle and to the rear of the windshield. A windshield unit includes an air duct for allowing an air introduction port opening toward the front of the vehicle to communicate with an air blowout port opening toward the upside of the vehicle and a second air duct for allowing a second air introduction port opening toward the front of the vehicle to communicate with a second air blowout port disposed rearward of the air duct to open toward the rear of the vehicle. The second air blowout port is disposed within the left-right width of the air blowout port of the air duct.

An air duct establishing communication between the air introduction port and the air blow-off port through an air passage extends rearwardly upwards. A straightening vane extends sideways in the air passage and is inclined rearwardly upwards so as to be along the air passage. In side view of the vehicle, a first straight line connecting both ends of the straightening vane is disposed at an obtuse angle in relation to a second straight line that is orthogonal to a steering axis and extends to a grounding point of a rear wheel.

    • To provide rider restraint means capable of allowing a rider to freely leave a vehicle without a manual release operation when there is no need to restrain the rider to the vehicle. The rider restraint means includes a belt restraining a rider, buckles making the belt detachable, a guide rail making the buckles slidable, a retractor unit controlling the slide of the buckles, and coupling release means releasing coupling between the belt and the buckles in conjunction with the slide of the buckles. The coupling release means includes an inner wire, a wire stopper, and a wire end. The coupling release means releases the coupling between the belt and the buckles when the retractor unit loosens the winding after collision and the buckles slide by a predetermined distance or more or when the rider continues to pull the belt in a state other than collision and the buckles slide by a predetermined distance or more.

    • A self-traveling robot system capable of being automatically positioned with respect to a workpiece including a robot for work on a continuous object, a truck for moving the robot along the continuous object, a distance detection mechanism mounted to the robot for detecting a distance between the robot and the continuous object, a deviation detecting circuit for comparing the distance as detected by the distance detection mechanism with a predetermined value and detecting a deviation between the distance and the predetermined value, and a travel path correcting mechanism for correcting an advance direction of the truck according to the deviation. A method of positioning the self-traveling robot system with respect to the workpiece is also disclosed, which includes the steps of (a) driving a robot which has stopped at a working position and detecting distances between a swiveling table and two measuring points on the workpiece; (b) calculating a tilt angle (.theta.) of the swiveling table relative to the workpiece and a deflection amount (l) from the swiveling table to a reference travel path on which the robot is to be normally traveled according to data obtained regarding the distance; (c) extending outriggers to separate the truck from a floor, and then rotating the truck at a right angle to the workpiece; (d) contracting the outriggers after step (c) to bring the truck into contact with the floor, and then rotating the swiveling table to a position parallel to the workpiece; (e) moving the truck by the deflection amount (l) to register a center of the truck with the reference travel path; and (f) extending the outriggers to separate the truck from the floor, then rotating the truck to a position parallel to the workpiece, and further contracting the outriggers.

    • The use of an oil cooler in an internal combustion engine for a personal watercraft is controlled, whereby excessive cooling of the engine during warmup with cold water operation is avoided, and dilution of oil is substantially prevented. The internal combustion engine includes a bypass oil path connecting respective oil paths upstream and downstream of the oil cooler. The bypass oil path permits oil to be selectively detoured around the oil cooler. An oil thermostat is provided in the upstream oil path for selectively opening either a path to the oil cooler or the bypass oil path, and the oil thermostat is operable to switch the flow of oil therebetween. The oil thermostat opens the bypass oil path when the temperature of the oil is below a predetermined temperature, and directs oil to the oil cooler when the temperature of the oil is equal to or exceeds a predetermined temperature.

    • To provide a cooling system for a jet propulsion boat in which the quantity of washing water consumed can be reduced and the appearance is improved. The cooling system for a jet propulsion boat forces the engine to be cooled and forces the exhaust system to be cooled by taking a part of a jet of water emitted from the jet pump (shown in FIG. 1) into the intake path as cooling water and diverging the cooling water taken into the intake path at the diverging duct in a one-way valve unit to flow into the engine-cooling flow path and the exhaust-system-cooling flow path. The cooling system for a jet propulsion boat is provided with a one-way valve at the midsection of the intake path for enabling cooling water to flow from the intake path to the diverging duct and preventing washing water from flowing from the diverging duct towards the intake path.
